Wednesday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. What is the REAL ID and Do I Need It? Presented by Katie Nolan, District Manager for AAA Northeast, Franklin office. Effective May 2, 2023, a new federal law will go into effect requiring a new type of identification – REAL ID – for anyone 18 years and older flying within the United States or entering a federal building that requires identification. A standard license will NOT be acceptable to pass through domestic airport security checkpoints. You will need a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification, such as a valid passport, federal government PIV card or US military ID.
